The sun gives life to almost all beings on this beautiful planet we call Earth, including ourselves. We wouldn’t be here without the sun and we certainly wouldn’t survive long without it. The sun is responsible for the process called photosynthesis, which keeps plants alive, which in turn keeps the animals that eat those plants alive and the animals that eat them also. The sun provides our bodies with vitamin D and, of course, the light and warmth that we experience everyday. Nowadays, the sun is also providing us with the energy to power many of our gadgets, electronics and even some of our homes. The sun truly is magnificent!

Did you know that there is another way to experience even more of what the sun has to offer? By adding the simple practice of Sun Gazing into your daily routine, you’ll be amazed with the exceptional benefits to your mind, body and soul.

Sunglasses are currently an everyday fashion accessory, they can look and feel great. However, they do block the sun’s rays to our eyes, which is essential to our wellbeing. Try ditching those sunglasses and watch how quickly your eyes adjust to the light…we are light beings after all! Try and notice the energy the sun eminates, actually feel the power it directs towards you. The rays enter through the pupils to feed your soul, and de-calcifies the pineal gland that wakes up the 3rd eye. The 3rd eye is your ticket to see the higher realms and de-calcifying this gland enables you to see so much more than viewing your surroundings with your physical eyes alone.

The practice of sun gazing has some truly amazing benefits, not only for our physical health, but also for our mental well-being and spiritual development. Some of the benefits of sun gazing include:

  • Relieving stress and tension.
  • Increasing the body’s energy levels.
  • Boosting the production of the feel good hormones, serotonin and melatonin.
  • Improving eyesight.
  • Reducing hunger pains – the body is completely nourished by the sun. (Some people claim to have abstained from food throughout this practice and have reportedly not eaten anything for 9 or 10 months).
  • Stimulating and increasing the size of the pineal gland.
  • Releasing internal blockages.
  • Increasing human potential.
  • Opening your 3rd eye.

How to sun Gaze:

Stand bare foot on the ground when the sun is closest to the earth, either at sunrise or sunset. Stay centred and stare at the sun for approximately 10 seconds each day. As you begin to master this practice, you will be able to extend your gazing duration for up to 45 seconds each time.
